Blog issues

I have no idea what is going on with my blog. *sniff sniff* Need to get this rectified.

In any case, I'm home from Disneyland. A bit frazzled, utterly exhausted, but of course, already planning our next trip. I upgraded our tix to Annual Pass, so our next trip will be paid for.

One of Those Days

It's been one of those days where you wonder why you got up in the morning.

My blog is totally jacked up and I have no idea how to fix it. I have no idea what I did. Really, no idea. Momlissa is on. I've got to figure out how to fix my blog, but there's no time now.

I forgot to feed Sofia breakfast (she was in bed watching cartoons), then accidentally hit my sister in law's fender, creating a slight dent. I arrive to work to find that my company shorted my check by almost a third, accidentally...right before leaving for Disneyland.

I'm not having a great day.

Oops

Uh oh, I think I messed up me' blog, big time.

Yikes.

3 days and counting...

Sofia had an epic tantrum this morning when I would not let her wear a summer top to school. I am trying to be flexible with this stuff, but it was too small and 50 degrees out. Meanwhile, David refused to be anywhere but in my arms, crying the whole time. I think that boy has some hard core separation anxiety issues. He's always been like this - since about 6 months or so - but it seems to be getting worse. Once Sofia and Daddy left for pre-school, he was fine, so I think he really was just freaking out over the prospect of my leaving. Breaks my heart.

Suffice it to say this morning was less than fun.

It did improve, though. The boys had a playdate at a mom from the mom's club's house about 10 minutes north. She also has a 3 yr old and 16 month old, so that was cool. There were about 5 of us there, so 6 kids. It was so nice to take them somewhere just for them. Later, I get my highlights and haircut. Very looking forward to a little "me" time as there'll be none of that in the days ahead.

Laundry is moving, suitcases are half packed and lists are made, items checked off and at the risk of letting my control freak nature show - spreadsheets have been created. Yes, spreadsheets. I am a geek and a control freak, but I just think it's important we have a plan.

Welcome to my world. :)

Your Pet Peeve

So, since we lost one staff person almost a month ago, I've taken on her job. During an active real estate market (which we are in the dire opposite of), this would be an overwhelming task. Handling all the in house marketing and listing coordination for 70+ listings kept her very busy. Right now, we have about 7 active listings and let me tell ya...they are not moving. So I don't mind the extra work, it's what I started out doing within the company and quite frankly, is old hat. I'm now in the process of interfacing with the marketing assistants in the other offices, coordinating our print and web advertising and making sure everything is in order.

I ask you, should it bother me that one of the marketing assistants replied to an email with "Your welcome?"

I try not to let that stuff bother me. Really, I do. If it was anyone else, I would just roll my eyes and laugh it off. It's a common mistake. But this is the individual who oversees her branch's marketing; writing verbiage for brochures, internet advertising, etc. so one would think she'd know the difference between your and you're. I'm no grammatical wizard - I tend to get lazy with comma usage and sentence structure, can get a little jiggy with the...purely out of laziness, I realize that. But I was an English Lit major and spelling has always been my thing. Seeing "your" is like nails on the chalkboard. Nails.on.the.chalk.board.

It's right up there with the aforementioned former Marketing Assistant referring to one of our publications as Homes and Lands. Lands. LANDS! Or when she called my pneuomonia "ammonia."

As my boss likes to say, they are the product of California public schools....but so am I!

Sigh. I'm in a pissy mood today. I just need to let it go.

Pre-Disneyland Mode

I went to have a drink last night and then remembered I am on antibiotics and 12 hour Sudafed. Doesn't really mix well, so had to skip that much needed beverage.

I am currently in hyper-Disneyland-preparation-mode.

I found a great Disney packing list here.

Just looking at all the gear we need to bring, I almost start to hyperventilate.

I have heard that Disney is slow, but I think that reflects sales for future travel, not current attendance. I'm sure many people, like ourselves, have their trips planned months in advance and intend to go, come hell or high water.

I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Disneyland with a 3.5 year old and 2 toddlers, am I out of my ever loving mind???? I know Sofia will have the time of her life, but I suspect I'll need a vacation when I get home. Fortunately, I have 4 days off after we get home.

I'm anxious about how the boys will sleep in a pack and play, wondering about sleeping options for them in the hotel. We have one of those little toddler couches that unfolds to a bed and they love it, I'm just not sure I'm ready to have them sleeping unconfined.

I just realized that I will need to bring all my babyproofing latches, outlet covers, etc. as they will be like bulls in a china closet at the hotel.

Have I mentioned we are staying in a 3 bedroom suite? SWEET. It was extremely reasonable and it's across from the park. Oh yes - and it has a fireworks view. There aren't any fireworks the week we are there (transitional period between Halloween and Thanksgiving), but that's neither here nor there.

The countdown is on...5 days and counting!
